We came together with many NGO’s and issued a press release regarding the humanitarian aid ship to be sent to Lebanon. With the ship, we aim to deliver food boxes, canned foods, beds, blankets, hygiene products, diapers, underwear, mats and tents to Lebanese people in need.
The president of Yetim Foundation gave his speech as the following:
“I don’t think such a period in which human lives, civilians, women, children and elderly are completely ignored has been seen in history before. For the past year, we watched on live streams crying mothers hold their martyred children who lost their arms of legs and unfortunately saw the mothers and fathers gather the pieces of their children, carrying them in bags.
We saw everything the west gathered; Universal Declaration of Human Rights (UDHR), Geneva Conventions, 1989 Convention on the Rights of the Child and more destroyed many times under the combat boots of Israeli soldiers. We witnessed in horror the Zionist group attack and carry out a genocide.
Why has the weight of the war been put on children in Gaza and Lebanon? Their attacks do not discriminate against civilians. Schools, hospitals, and ambulances are targeted. We have reached such a point that humanity is no more. We need to take action.
We have been working for children for a long time, we try to do what we can. Gaza, Lebanon, Refugee camps… Together with the NGO’s here, we caried out the biggest humanitarian aid distribution in these areas. And today we come together for another act of good. If Allah wills, we will send the humanitarian aid ship to the areas as soon as possible.
I pray that no more blood be shed, no more children be orphaned, no more parents lose their children, and that the world wakes up and stop this.”
