Stationery Project
Stationery Project for Orphaned Children
At Orphan Foundation, we feel the heavy responsibility of living in a world alongside nearly 400 million orphaned children. One of the projects we have developed to carry the burden on the small shoulders of our brothers and sisters is the Stationery Project.
The Bell of Goodness Rings
As the new school year begins, we distribute school bags and stationery supplies to every orphaned child. The stationery supplies we provide primarily include bags, pencil cases, pencils, ballpoint pens, notebooks suitable for various subjects, colored pencils, watercolors, pastels, erasers, sharpeners, rulers, and books. The quantity and variety of materials vary depending on the educational system of the country where distribution takes place, the age groups of the children, and the budget.
Project’s Purpose
The basic goal of the stationery project, launched to support orphaned, fatherless, and socially orphaned children starting the new school year, is to fill the gaps that would disrupt their educational life. We aim to help eliminate any obstacles to their education, ensuring that they have the necessary tools to continue their studies.
The project also aims to provide morale to orphaned children living in different parts of the Islamic world, create an impact against missionary activities seeking to establish a Western-Christian-centric world through orphaned children, observe the conditions in brotherly regions firsthand, and raise awareness about urgent projects for orphaned children among our nation’s philanthropists.
Project Scope
We continue to carry out feasibility studies in the countries and regions we aim to reach throughout the year. With the support of our partner organizations, we identify the orphaned children and the most vulnerable groups in these regions. Through this method, we deliver stationery supplies to those in need.
The countries where the project will be implemented are selected based on the children’s data and the level of hardship in the region. In summary, we prioritize orphans, fatherless, abandoned, and socially orphaned children in war and crisis zones, areas affected by natural disasters, and impoverished regions suffering from hunger and drought.
Countries Reached
The countries included in the project are Turkey, Afghanistan, Rohingya, Albania, Bangladesh, Bosnia, Burkina Faso, Chad, Palestine, Iraq, Iran, Lebanon, Lebanon (Palestinian Refugee Camps), Macedonia, Somalia, Sri Lanka, Syria, Togo, Tunisia, and Yemen.
Priority Provinces in Turkey
The priority provinces for the stationery project in Turkey are the 11 provinces directly affected by the February 6, 2023, earthquake in Kahramanmaraş. Following the region, families who migrated to Ankara and Istanbul due to the earthquake, which caused the deaths of over 45,000 people and affected the lives of 13.5 million people, are also included.
