"Goodness is Next" Project: Bringing Together Students and Orphaned Children on the Shared Ground of Kindness
The "Goodness is Next" project, initiated as part of our values-based education program, aims to unite students from kindergarten to high school with orphaned children under the common value of kindness.
Through this project, our students have the opportunity to sponsor an orphan as a class through our foundation's Orphan Sponsorship Support Service. By collectively raising a monthly amount, the sponsorship of an orphan can be sustained. This initiative not only helps raise awareness of the concept of kindness, but also fosters a strong sense of unity among the children as they work together to support an orphaned sibling.
Classes can maintain communication with their sponsored orphans by writing letters. Once the letters are prepared, they can be sent to Orphan Foundation under the registration of the "Goodness is Next". Upon receipt, the letters will be forwarded to the orphans, and similarly, when a letter is received from the orphan, it will be delivered back to the class.
Objective and Scope of the Project
Small acts of sacrifice made at an early age have a direct impact on the character development of children. This project, conducted in collaboration with the Istanbul Provincial Directorate of National Education under a protocol, primarily aims to raise a generation of individuals who are compassionate, share willingly, and are charitable and selfless. In addition, one of the main objectives of the project is to build a bridge between our student siblings and,orphaned children, creating a bond of affection and empathy between them.
Project Process
After the "Goodness is Next" project introduction brochures and posters are sent by Orphan Foundation to participating schools for informational purposes, schools can voluntarily choose to participate in the project.
Following notification from school administrators, classes can apply by filling out the Orphan Sponsorship Form on yetimvakfi.org.tr, under the representation of their teacher.
Support for each orphan sibling should be provided for a minimum period of one year. Classes can continue supporting their orphaned siblings for any period they choose.
Presentations of the "Goodness is Next" project can be made to all primary and secondary schools, including kindergartens and private schools, with the approval of the school administration. Schools may contact the OrphanFoundation for further arrangements.
A monthly contribution of 600 TRY will cover the basic needs of the orphaned child, including education, healthcare, food, clothing, and partially housing.
Classes can choose to sponsor one or more orphaned siblings, and multiple classes may come together to support a single orphan. For each child supported, a monthly donation of 600 TRY is sufficient.
Classes may start the project at any time, similar to the standard sponsorship process. However, it is crucial that the full annual contribution of 7,200 TRY be completed after the project begins.
The project can continue for as long as the supporting class wishes. However, the supporting class is required to commit to providing support for at least one year. After completing the one-year period, classes may continue supporting their orphan sibling if they wish.
