Sri Lanka Grocery Store - Development Project
Through our development initiatives, we continue to strive towards empowering families to become self-sufficient and achieve economic prosperity. We meticulously match orphan families with the most suitable projects, considering the geographical characteristics, regional conditions, and livelihood opportunities in the countries they reside in.
The aim of this particular project is to provide employment opportunities for widowed mothers in Sri Lanka, a country grappling with high unemployment rates and on the brink of economic collapse. The goal is to improve their living standards by offering them a sustainable livelihood.
Under this initiative, grocery stores will be established for four orphaned families in Sri Lanka. The project will supply all necessary goods for the stores, which will be sold on a one-time basis. The goods will include 50 kg of rice, 25 kg of flour, 25 kg of sugar, 20 kg of lentils, 20 kg of chickpeas, 75 kg of soap, 20 kg of onions, 20 kg of potatoes, 10 liters of cooking oil (in 1-liter bottles), 100 packs of biscuits, 75 coconuts, 50 tubes of toothpaste, 75 bottles of shampoo, curry and pepper spices, tea, and shelving for the store setup.
Once suitable families in Sri Lanka, who are economically disadvantaged and eligible for this project, are identified, the required installations and purchases will be made, and the grocery stores will be handed over to the families.
This project will initially benefit four orphan families residing in Sri Lanka. However, the number of families benefiting from this project may be increased according to demand.
Through the Sri Lanka Grocery Store Project, we anticipate enabling orphan families to generate a stable source of income, improving the living conditions of the orphans, fostering entrepreneurship among widowed mothers to serve as role models, and contributing to the local economy.
