Yetim Foundation, which has been operating for orphans, singled parented children and social orphans since 2017, held an opening ceremony for their new headquarter building.

The opening ceremony of the new building is located next to Kariye Mosque and was obtained with the support of The International Islamic Charity Organization and Kuwaiti sponsors. The ceremony was packed with guests. The ceremony started with Quran recitations and was followed up with speeches and presenting of gifts.

“Being here is such an honor”

The Ministry of Family and Social Services Vice President Leman Yenigün, gave insights on the governmental services for orphans and stated that Yetim Foundation sets a good example in society.

Yenigün stated that we are the ummah of an orphan and that therefore they are ready to offer all governmental means for orphans and she also added the following:

“It is an honor to attend the opening ceremony of such a foundation. Our Ministry is a ministry that carries out many services for orphans and single parented children. We have a Children General Directorate and a department, and we consult with our governors to carry out projects all around Türkiye. We use all the governmental resources we can to reach and support orphans. Our social services are for all orphans in Türkiye.”

“Istanbul is a Foundation City. We do not turn the needy away.”

Istanbul Davut Gül stated that all orphans were entrusted by the Prophet Muhammed to us and that they also carry out services for them. Gül also mentioned that the “One Child One Wish” project would also continue this year and added:

“In summary, our project is this: We sent letters to all registered orphans and asked them to write their three wishes. We carried out one wish with the donors. This year we wrote the letters again. Next week on Wednesday we will do an official announcement of the project. InshAllah we will fulfill at least one wish from the letters received.”

“Children are like lanterns lighting us in the dark.”

The president of Yetim Foundation, Murat Yılmaz stated that they give aid to many orphans and singled parented children in and outside of Türkiye and that they stand with them both physically and spiritually.

The President of The International Islamic Charity Organization, Dr. Abdullah Matuk stated that this building would be essential in the education of orphans and their future. In the opening ceremony, the president of the Municipality of Fatih, Mehmet Ergün and the general president of İHH Humanitarian Relief Foundation (İHH) Bülent Yildirim gave a thanking speech.

Following all the speeches the new building was opened by cutting the ribbon.
