Yetim Foundation held intensive activities and events on the 15th of Ramadan which is also World Orphans Day and Yetim Foundations founding anniversary. We spread awareness on the 1 billion orphans on earth with the press release in Istanbul Rami Library, the TRT1 tv program and an iftar attended by 1000 people in Damascus. Our foundation also spread awareness on child labor by announcing the report named “Child Labor- Small Hands, Big Hands”.
Yetim Foundation along with IHH Humanitarian Foundation and Yeryüzü Çocukları Derneği brought attention to World Orphans Day. The president of Yetim Foundation Murat Yılmaz stated that “We all have the responsibility of making sure orphans get the love, affection and security they need.” He also announced the report named “Child Labor- Small Hands, Big Hands”.
Orphan Awareness in the Media
On the 15th of Ramadan, our Foundation’s president Murat Yılmaz was on the tv screen on the channel TRT1. Murat Yılmaz was a guest on program the “Ramazan Sevinci” hosted by Bekir Develi. He spoke about the importance of World Orphans Day, the situation of orphans, single parented children and social orphans with their statistics. He also mentioned how we can support orphans. With the tag #DünyaYetimlerGünü on X, we brought attention to the topic at 10pm on the 15th of Ramadan.
Iftar in Damascus
This year on World Orphans Day, the joy of Syrian land being free was celebrated. A special iftar for the orphans in Damascus was held. The board of management members of our Foundation and 1000 people also attended the iftar. In addition, Eid clothes were gifted to more than 3000 children.
Yetim Foundation, like every year brought awareness to World Orphans Day with various events as the Foundation authorities said the following: “We spent another World Orphan Day being the voice of orphans and calling out to the world. We will continue to stand by all orphans and children who need love and affection, until all the children of the world are happy.”
