The Goodnes Bell is Ringing

As we enter the 2023-2024 academic year, school bags and stationery materials will be distributed to each orphan child within the scope of the project.

As the Orphan Foundation, we heavily feel the responsibility of living in the same world with approximately 400 million orphan children. And when we introduce new projects, we move by keeping in mind how we can be useful to these children and how we can lift the burden off their tiny shoulders.

One of these projects, namely, the "Stationery Project" was implemented to support orphan children who will start a new academic year.

What is the goal that the Orphan Foundation wants to achieve with the Stationery Project?

Firstly, as the Orphan Foundation, we heavily feel the responsibility of living in the same world with approximately 400 million orphan children. And when we introduce new projects, we move by keeping in mind how we can be useful to these children and how we can lift the burden off their tiny shoulders.

One of these projects, namely, the "Stationery Project" is launched to support our orphaned, homeless and socially orphaned children who will start a new academic year by distributing school bags and stationery materials.  Therefore, our goal is to make new happy beginnings and to compensate for the deficiencies, which disrupt the educational life of our children.

In addition, this project carries the hope of providing morale, motivation and joy of life to our orphans living in different parts of the Islamic geography. Furthermore, this project includes the efforts to create an impact against the activities of missionaries who try to establish a Western-Christian-centered world through orphaned children, to observe on-site what is happening in neighbor countries, and to bring important projects related with our orphans to the agenda of philanthropists in our country.

To whom does the Orphan Foundation aim to provide aid within the scope of the Stationery Project?

There is a very large population of more than one billion people who are orphans, abandoned and social orphans within the scope of the Orphan Foundation's work area. In this context, we will carry out this project in countries and regions where there are orphanages and orphan children who are deprived of their parents’ love, affection and attention, even if they have parents.

How are children in need identified?

Projects, research and feasibility studies in different fields continue throughout the year in the countries and regions where the Orphan Foundation works and aims to reach. With the contributions of our sister organizations, the most needy groups of orphans and social orphans in orphanages in countries and regions are identified and activities are concentrated on eliminating the problems there. The Stationery Project works are carried out primarily in these areas.

How is the Orphan Foundation preparing for the Stationery Project?

Firstly, the countries where the project will be implemented are determined. The most important factor in determining these countries is the current situation of orphan children in the country. From this perspective, according to recent statistics, the African continent, which hosts a significant portion of the world's orphan population and where two out of every three orphans in the world are located, stands out. Africa is followed by South and Southeast Asia, where poverty and natural disasters are very common, and the Middle East, where war and chaos make millions of children orphans. The Balkans and the Caucasus, which also stand out as potential crisis regions, are also among the regions covered by the project.

What are the criteria of the Orphan Foundation for determining the regions to carry out the Stationery Project?

The degree of victimization is important in identifying these regions. Accordingly, orphans, abandoned and social orphans and orphanages located in war and crisis zones, regions experiencing natural disasters, poor countries and regions where hunger and drought prevail, are taken into consideration as a priority.

What kind of materials will be distributed to children within the scope of the project?

As the beginning of 2023-2024 academic year, school bags and stationery materials will be distributed to each orphan child within the scope of the project. Primarily lined, unlined, checkered notebooks and drawing notebooks will be given as stationery materials. In addition, various materials such as pencils, ballpoint pens, erasers, pencil cases, sharpeners, notebook/book covers, rulers, geometry sets, compasses sets, coloring pencil sets, dossier, water bottles and tipex will be distributed.

The number and variety of materials will vary depending on the education system of the country to be distributed, the age groups of the children and the budget.
